I rarely leave bad reviews, but when I first started using OnlySocial, I was ready to throw in the towel. The promise of an affordable social media scheduler with bulk upload features sounded perfect – especially for my #HaltonHour Twitter/X posts – but reality didn’t quite match up.

From failed posts to nonexistent support, my first few months were nothing short of infuriating.

However, after almost a year of sticking with it, things have shifted. It’s time to write my honest OnlySocial review.

What is OnlySocial.io?

OnlySocial is an all-in-one social marketing platform. My honest OnlySocial review covers the social media scheduling function – because that is what I use.

The browser based social media marketing platform includes:

  • Planning and scheduling of posts to 14 social media platforms (at the time of publishing)
  • Sharing to all platforms via RSS feeds
  • Messenger and Instagram sales bot
  • Advanced analytics
  • Advanced link in bio pages

Quite honestly, I was so irritated with the glitches, bugs and what felt like constant fails, I just didn’t have the heart or the patience to explore the other features!

That is changing now, so bear with me!

If you’re looking for a simple social media scheduler that supports bulk uploads, cross-platform posting, and a user-friendly calendar, OnlySocial might just be the tool for you.

Let me share the good, the bad, and everything in between in this OnlySocial review. What a roller-coaster year it has been using the platform!

Why I Switched to OnlySocial from Buffer

Buffer is a fantastic social media scheduling tool, and I had been happily using it on a legacy payment plan for years. However, as my needs changed, I found myself only using it to schedule posts for #HaltonHour on Twitter.

I rarely posted to other social media platforms, whether for #HaltonHour or my clients, and it didn’t make sense to keep paying for features I wasn’t using.

At the end of 2023, I came across a lifetime deal for OnlySocial. It promised bulk CSV uploads, easy social media scheduling, and the ability to manage multiple social platforms – all for a one-time fee. It seemed like the perfect opportunity to simplify my social media management and cut ongoing costs.

So, I decided to give it a try…

A Bad OnlySocial Review and My First Months of Frustration

Twitter social scheduling frustration

When I first started using OnlySocial, I was excited about the promise of bulk CSV uploads and simple social media scheduling. Unfortunately, those first few months were nothing short of frustrating. This is an honest OnlySocial review based on my personal experience using the platform.

The bulk upload feature, one of the main reasons I switched to OnlySocial from Buffer, simply didn’t work.

Initially, I was told the issue was due to “non-standard characters.” Since I regularly use emojis in my Twitter posts, I assumed they were causing the problem. However, even after re-uploading without emojis, the bulk upload feature still failed.

This was a major letdown for a social media tool that advertised bulk scheduling as one of its standout features.

To make matters worse…

OnlySocial had a massive fail rate when posting to Twitter (now X).

Twitter was undergoing major changes to its API after Elon Musk took over and the rebranding to X. Trying to keep up was a nightmare. I lost hours of scheduled posts due to constant errors.

Every time the connection failed, I had to delete and reset the API app. It was a time-consuming and very frustrating process that offered no guarantee the posts would actually go live.

Give OnlySocial their due – Twitter’s API was not their problem. I still had my downgraded Buffer free account though. It drove me mad that Buffer scheduled posts on their free plan went live, while OnlySocial did not.

I was so frustrated, I shared my thoughts in an OnlySocial review on their Facebook page in March 2024.

My OnlySocial review on their Facebook Page

Despite the platform’s promise of a 15-minute average response time, I waited days (sometimes weeks) without any resolution. I don’t even think anyone at OnlySocial read the review – they certainly didn’t respond to it!

For someone relying on this scheduler for #HaltonHour posts, these issues weren’t just inconvenient – they were a deal-breaker.

My OnlySocial Review, Finally Improvements and Turning Point!

Since the launch of OnlySocial v3 in July, my experience has improved significantly. While the transition to the new platform meant rescheduling everything yet AGAIN – a frustrating process – the changes have been worth it.

Reliability posting to Twitter/X has been much better. I’ve only one Twitter/X API disconnect in months compared to the constant issues I faced before.

The OnlySocial platform updates no longer break the connection to Twitter/X. That alone has saved me hours of hassle and made scheduling posts far smoother.

Support has also improved, at least indirectly. While I haven’t needed to contact OnlySocial support since the upgrade, I was notified via an automated email when the Twitter API disconnected.

The proactive alert system allowed me to reconnect the platform quickly without losing scheduled posts. It is a big step up from being left in the dark with the old version of OnlySocial.

We won’t mention it took a day for me to see the email…

Or that I couldn’t fix the Twitter/X API re-connection on my phone because I am blind as a bat and didn’t have my reading glasses with me!

Enough of my problems! On with the OnlySocial Review.

Another feature I’m thrilled with is the RSS Feed scheduler. I’ve reconnected the #HaltonHour blog RSS to post automatically once per day to Twitter/X.

This auto-posting feature had been lost during the X rebrand when the WordPress Revive Old Posts plugin stopped working. Having auto-posting the #HaltonHour blog back in action through OnlySocial RSS connection is a huge win!

It means the #HaltonHour Features Interviews and #HaltonHour Business Introductions get put back into the Twitter/X feed – that was the original plan. I was gutted it was broken.

The new OnlySocial v3 calendar layout for scheduling is another highlight. It’s intuitive, with options to view posts by week or month. However, having all social platforms displayed on one calendar can make things feel a bit cluttered, especially when managing multiple accounts.

Still, for small business owners or sole traders like me, it’s a functional and effective tool. I must go an explore the OnlySocial Workspaces feature, which I think will fix that Calendar overwhelm when I’ve been on a social media scheduling mission!

For anyone starting with OnlySocial now, they’ll avoid the frustrations I experienced with earlier versions and benefit from a much-improved platform.

While my initial experience was rocky to say the least, I did purchase a lifetime promo deal at a very low cost. I’m now reaping the benefits of affordable, efficient social media scheduling.

Features of OnlySocial I Haven’t Fully Explored Yet

While I’ve made good use of the bulk upload scheduler, RSS Feed autoposting, calendar layout, and reposting features, there are still parts of OnlySocial I haven’t fully explored. These features might be helpful for businesses with different needs or a more complex social strategy:

1. Messenger and Instagram Sales Bot
OnlySocial has tools to automate replies on Messenger and Instagram and even integrate sales directly. I’ve not tried this feature yet. I’m not a huge user of Facebook or Instagram, not to mention that IMO there is nothing more irritating than talking to a sales bot!
The OnlySocial social sales bot could be great for businesses looking to improve customer engagement or automate some of their sales processes.

2. Advanced Link in Bio Features
There’s also a customisable Link in Bio tool for social profiles. which could be handy for driving traffic to multiple pages or products. It looks like a useful option for those wanting to streamline links from Instagram, TikTok or similar social platforms that have limited linking. I have had a quick play with the Link In Bio feature and will be utilising it more in 2025 because of it’s flexibility.

3. Social Media Analytics
The analytics are built into the OnlySocial dashboard, but they seem a bit glitchy. I get follower graphs for Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter/X, but there’s no detailed engagement data for Facebook or Instagram. Interestingly, I do see some analytics for the Pinterest account I recently connected.
If you’re looking for advanced insights, Twitter/X is particularly limited and Facebook/Instagram analytics are better in app with the Meta analytics.

4. Team Collaboration Tools
For businesses working in teams, OnlySocial includes options to assign tasks and manage approvals. I don’t have a team, so I’ve never needed this feature. It could be a good fit for businesses using a freelance Social Media Manager or larger teams managing multiple accounts.

5. Ai Writer and Ai Images

Like many social platforms, OnlySocial has Ai assisted post creation. I’ve not used the Ai post or image creation at all, so can’t comment on how it stacks up against creation with tools such as ChatGPT or Claude.

6. Advanced Social Platforms
I mainly stick to Twitter/X, Facebook, and Instagram, but OnlySocial also supports platforms like LinkedIn and Google Business Profile. If your business is active on these OnlySocial could offer even more value than I’ve tapped into so far. I plan to be adding the #HaltonHour Google Business Profile to OnlySocial in 2025 – so watch this space.

Key OnlySocial Features That I Love

While my initial experience with OnlySocial was rocky, several features have now proven invaluable for my social media scheduling. These are the standout tools that have made a difference for me operating #HaltonHour without a team of people backing me up:

  1. Bulk Upload Scheduler
The bulk upload feature is finally living up to its promise. After being unusable in the earlier version, it now works smoothly and allows me to schedule posts across my active multiple social media platforms – Twitter/X, Facebook, and Instagram – with a CSV file. It has been a game-changer for managing campaigns like the #HaltonHour advent tips, where I bulk created 24 image posts and scheduled them in one go.
  2. RSS Feed Autoposting
The RSS Feed scheduler is another highlight. I’ve set up the #HaltonHour blog RSS to post automatically on Twitter/X once per day. It’s a massive time saver and ensures my content reaches social media without manual input.
  3. Calendar View Options
The new calendar layout is both user-friendly and versatile, with weekly and monthly views that make planning posts more straightforward. Although it can feel cluttered when managing multiple accounts, the layout has helped me keep track of content across all platforms in one place.

Who Should Use OnlySocial

OnlySocial is a great fit for a range of users, depending on their social media needs and how many accounts they manage. Here’s how the pricing plans stack up based on my personal experience with the platform:

OnlySocial Freelancer Plan

The Freelancer plan is ideal for solopreneurs and creatives who want to take control of their own social media scheduling. With one account per platform and access to all modules, it’s perfect if you’re managing a smaller setup but still want the flexibility to post across multiple platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter/X, and TikTok. The 1GB storage is plenty for solo users, and the price point is affordable for those running lean operations.

OnlySocial Entrepreneur Plan

This is the plan I’m on, and it’s great for small businesses or anyone who might manage a mix of their own socials and clients. With three accounts per platform it gives me room to schedule for my own platforms – including My Local Business Online when I rebrand – and for clients if I decide to take on social media work again. The 3GB storage capacity also makes it practical for uploading bulk content like images or videos.

OnlySocial Professional Plan

If you’re running a small social media agency or managing social accounts for several clients, the Professional plan might be the way to go. With ten accounts per platform and a generous 10GB of storage, it’s built for high-volume posting across multiple accounts.

Who Will Benefit Most From the OnlySocial App?

In my experience, the OnlySocial app is perfect for:

  • Small businesses and solopreneurs: Especially those active on multiple platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter/X, TikTok, Google Business Profile, YouTube, and more. It’s affordable and simple enough to make scheduling stress-free.
  • Content creators: If you’re juggling multiple social accounts, OnlySocial makes it easier to stay consistent with features like bulk uploads and reposting.
  • Businesses using multiple platforms: Many UK small businesses are active on three or more social platforms, often favouring Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok for revenue generation. OnlySocial caters to this need without the steep learning curve of more complex tools.

My Honest OnlySocial Review – The Final Verdict

After nearly a year of using OnlySocial, I can confidently say it’s a solid social media scheduler. Small businesses and solopreneurs could really benefit from this social media management tool. While my experience got off to a frustrating start, the platform has come a long way since the v3 upgrade.

Features like the bulk upload scheduler and RSS Feed autoposting have finally delivered on their promise, saving me hours of work. The calendar layout, although a bit cluttered at times, is easy to use and keeps everything in one place.

OnlySocial review 4 out of 5

However, the analytics let it down. They’re glitchy, with limited data for Facebook and Instagram and no advanced insights for Twitter/X. If tracking engagement is a priority for you, it could be a deal-breaker.

Overall, I’d give OnlySocial 4/5 stars. It’s affordable, simple, and does the job well enough for most small business needs. There’s still room for improvement. OnlySocial is actively developed and I have no doubt the improvements will come.
